Where the EU’s crude oil and fuel come from, as each member state reports its imports; every band’s width is proportional to tonnes.
In August 2023, Austria's road diesel supply was 521 kt: 36% from its own refineries, with imports mainly from Germany (47%), Slovenia (9%) and Italy (6%); tracing one step back, the crude behind it is estimated to come mainly from Kazakhstan (17%), Libya (13%) and the United States (8%), and 18% cannot be traced.
