Where the EU’s crude oil and fuel come from, as each member state reports its imports; every band’s width is proportional to tonnes.
In May 2024, Ireland's road diesel supply was 305 kt: 5% from its own refineries, with imports mainly from the United Kingdom (49%), the Netherlands (30%) and Belgium (8%); tracing one step back, the crude behind it is estimated to come mainly from the United States (13%), Norway (6%) and Kazakhstan (5%), and 60% cannot be traced.
