Basis: energy statistics. All volumes are on the energy basis: the country where the oil was produced, as each EU member state reports its imports to Eurostat (dataset nrg_ti_oilm). "EU imports" is the sum of what the member states reported importing from everywhere, including from each other and the part they did not attribute to any country.
July 2026 is not used yet: only 7 of 27 member states have reported their crude oil imports for it.

Crude and products: All cited export points lie outside the Persian Gulf: the Neste Porvoo refinery in the Kilpilahti area, 'approximately 12 million tons annually', and the Porvoo harbour, 'the biggest in Finland when measured in tons, with some 1,200 ship calls every year', on the Gulf of Finland. The Strait of Hormuz is the sole outlet of the Persian Gulf, so the Hormuz-requiring share is 0 by geographic construction, not by estimate. The Gulf of Finland is wiki-sourced; Neste's own 'Baltic Sea region' wording describes delivery destinations, not the harbour's water body, and is not used as the sea.
