Basis: energy statistics. All volumes are on the energy basis: the country where the oil was produced, as each EU member state reports its imports to Eurostat (dataset nrg_ti_oilm). "EU imports" is the sum of what the member states reported importing from everywhere, including from each other and the part they did not attribute to any country.
July 2026 is not used yet: only 7 of 27 member states have reported their crude oil imports for it.

Crude and products: All cited export points lie outside the Persian Gulf: Naftoport and the ORLEN Petrobaltic quay in the Port of Gdansk on the Baltic Sea. The Strait of Hormuz is the sole outlet of the Persian Gulf, so the Hormuz-requiring share is 0 by geographic construction, not by estimate. Naftoport is the clearest genuine crude re-export loading point among the EU partners: it states it loads Aframax, Suezmax and VLCC tankers with crude for transit to Western Europe, the USA and the Far East. The literal phrase 'Baltic Sea' is cited only by Wikipedia and is flagged. CONSIGNMENT-basis caveat: on a customs (consignment) basis this partner may carry crude of other physical origin. It is still recorded as 0 because the ORIGIN-basis series (Eurostat nrg_ti_oilm) attributes such re-exports to the producing country, and on that basis this partner appears only as a producer.
