Basis: energy statistics. All volumes are on the energy basis: the country where the oil was produced, as each EU member state reports its imports to Eurostat (dataset nrg_ti_oilm). "EU imports" is the sum of what the member states reported importing from everywhere, including from each other and the part they did not attribute to any country.
July 2026 is not used yet: only 7 of 27 member states have reported their crude oil imports for it.

- High. Where a country loads on both sides of the Strait, the split is not published, so only a range is given.
Crude and products: CONSIGNMENT ARTEFACT, now cited rather than merely suspected. Enerdata: 'As the country's only refinery ceased operating in 1998, the country imports all its oil products.' Slovenia therefore refines nothing, and the 18.3 Mt of EU product imports recorded against SI since 2015 cannot be Slovenian-refined product: it is re-export or a consignment-basis artefact. The only cited liquid outlet is the Port of Koper liquid cargoes terminal, and the operator describes it as 'specialized for handling and warehousing of chemicals, minerals and vegetable oils' - it does NOT name petroleum products. The Strait of Hormuz is the sole outlet of the Persian Gulf, so the Hormuz-requiring share is 0 by geographic construction, not by estimate.
