CAVEAT ON CRUDE STATUS: no opened Nynas page states that this site operates a crude distillation unit. The Nynas production-and-supply page (opened 2026-09-22) lists Gothenburg as one of three Nynas manufacturing sites and says it is 'Focused on bitumen production for the Nordic market, with ongoing investments to enhance product quality and sustainability'. The Nynas Annual and Sustainability Report 2025 (opened 2026-09-22) says the Gothenburg site is 'Specialised in bitumen production for road and infrastructure applications' and a 'Centre for polymer-modified binders and emulsions', with approximately 50 employees, and that Nynas holds emissions permits 'for its installations in Nynashamn and Gothenburg'. Status is set to OPERATING because the EEA Industrial Emissions Portal registers the site under IED Annex I activity 1.2, 'Refining of mineral oil and gas', as 'functional' for reporting year 2024, and because Nynas' own 2021 annual report refers to 'the refinery in Gothenburg'; but crude distillation at this specific site is NOT confirmed by any operator page opened in this session and should be treated as unverified. This is a separate plant from Preemraff Goteborg and from the St1 Gothenburg refinery.
