Where the EU’s crude oil and fuel come from, as each member state reports its imports; every band’s width is proportional to tonnes.
In September 2023, Italy's road diesel supply was 2,782 kt: 85% from its own refineries; tracing one step back, the crude behind it is estimated to come mainly from Azerbaijan (17%), Libya (16%) and the United States (15%), and 16% cannot be traced.
