Italy: crude oil and fuel imports since 2015
Counted as the country reports it in its energy statistics: crude oil by the country where it was produced, refined products by the country they were last shipped from, which may be a trading hub rather than where they were refined.
In 2023, Italy imported 61.2 million tonnes of crude oil, most from Azerbaijan (18%), Libya (17%) and the United States (12%). Its refined-product imports were 11.6 million tonnes, most from Saudi Arabia (13%), Algeria (12%) and Greece (10%).
