Spain: crude oil and fuel imports since 2015
Counted by the country the cargo was shipped from, as customs record it. Transit hubs such as the Netherlands therefore appear as sources; for crude oil, the default view counts by the country of production instead.
In 2016, Spain imported 65.1 million tonnes of crude oil, most from Mexico (15%), Nigeria (12%) and Saudi Arabia (10%). Its refined-product imports were 16.7 million tonnes, most from Italy (16%), Russia (14%) and the United States (9%).
